Abacus – Transport Management System (TMS) is a custom-built logistics platform developed by Creative Mantra to centralize and streamline transportation operations for the client, John Rediehs.
The project focused on replacing fragmented, manual processes with a unified digital system capable of managing orders, carriers, documents, and workflows efficiently. Designed as an enterprise-grade solution, Abacus TMS improves operational visibility, reduces dependency on spreadsheets, and enables scalable growth through automation, role-based access, and real-time tracking.

RESEARCH
Research involved analyzing existing logistics workflows to identify bottlenecks caused by manual handling and scattered data sources. Operational challenges around shipment tracking, document management, and role-based access were studied in detail. These insights guided the design of a centralized, automation-first system focused on clarity, efficiency, and scalability.

The user flow in Abacus TMS is designed to digitize and standardize end-to-end transportation operations, replacing manual coordination with structured, trackable workflows. Each stage ensures operational clarity, accountability, and real-time visibility across teams.
Order Creation
The operations team initiates the workflow by creating transport orders within the system. Each order captures essential details such as shipment type, origin, destination, timelines, and special handling requirements, ensuring accurate planning from the outset.
Carrier Assignment
Once an order is created, carriers are assigned based on availability, capacity, and shipment needs. Shipment details are managed centrally, allowing teams to update assignments, communicate changes, and reduce delays caused by manual coordination.
Workflow Tracking
Shipment status and operational progress are tracked throughout the lifecycle of the order. Real-time updates enable teams to monitor milestones, identify bottlenecks early, and respond proactively to exceptions or delays.
Dashboard Monitoring
Role-based dashboards provide real-time visibility into ongoing operations. Key metrics such as active shipments, carrier performance, and order statuses help stakeholders make informed decisions quickly.
