Build a bingo-generation tool that treats teachers, parents, and event planners like adults. A rich template library, a live editor that skips the tutorial, and a single output that goes to the printer OR a virtual lobby — the same source, two modes, one click apart.

Scope
What we were hired to build.
Bingo Card Creator is a long-running consumer web app used by teachers, event planners and community organisers to design and print custom bingo cards or run virtual bingo games. Our brief spanned UI/UX and interaction design of the card-creation flow, template library and gameplay experience.
How we planned
Three jobs-to-be-done, one builder.
We split the audience into three jobs-to-be-done: a teacher preparing a Friday spelling game, an event planner running a corporate mixer, and a hobbyist wanting a personalised card in five minutes. Each got a distinct entry path but converged on the same core builder — one that never made a first-time user think about a bingo grid.
How we delivered
A template-first builder, tuned for five minutes before class.
A template-first builder with instant preview, PDF export of up to a thousand unique cards, an AI word-generator to break blank-page paralysis, and a live-play mode supporting up to 2,000 online players. Stripe was wired for paid tiers. The whole experience was tuned for a user who found the site five minutes before class.
Mobile-first, tuned to the thumb
Every filter, every category chip, every Create Your Card button was drawn to a thumb-reach spec on a 375px mock first. Desktop inherits the mobile rhythm — because in 2024 half of “let me make a bingo card” happens on a phone at a school pickup, not at a desktop.
